I was watching an extra credit video on how music education is bridging gaps between Arabs and Jews in Israel, then it got me thinking on how many years I was forced to learn to play the piano. With that being said, watching the Orpheus made me appreciate my ability to play the piano and how selfish I was. It is amazing to hear how the piano/violin/guitar has made an impact on individuals and from local to international community. Aaaah music, so thankful! They need to bring music education back to students, there are some youth who need that other creative, cultural outlet.
I admire people who are majoring in music or have the passion to purse music education in their communities.
There are such amazing people in the world who do amazing things everyday.
I want to learn to be more brave and take chances!
I want to be so many things in life and I am determined to accomplish them. I just need to remind myself everyday because sometimes I forget.
- teach/tutor at the local/national level or do some sort of community organizing at the local/national level
- law school
- do something amazing in the international community through education
- get my teaching degree (considering it, so we shall see how life goes!)
- improve the education system in California, specially dealing with California community college
- go on a medical/legal/educational trip to the Philippines
.... is that too much? I don't know, some of them I just came up with on the spot. I really have never considered teaching until last year. It is kind of amazing how teachers can have an impact on someone.
I was at the Kapiolani Filipino festival over the weekend and I want to start or be part of an organization that donates books to libraries about Phlippine culture, history, food or whatever... libraries should carry more books about Filipinos!!!! Hmmm if I have time I should find Filipinos holding government positions to purchase/donate books to their state/local libraries. That would be nice!
I am the library and people keep bringing food in which makes me hungry! I have eye boogers, ew!
